The Commission for Public Health is proposing to amend the communicable diseases and conditions reporting requirements in rule 10A NCAC 41A .0101 to: (1) expand from reporting of carbapenem-resistant enterobacteriaceae (CRE) to the reporting of all carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPO); (2) add a reporting requirement for invasive Cronobacter infections in individuals less than 12 months of age; and (3) make other technical updates to rule language. The proposed effective date of this rule amendment is October 1, 2024.
