15A NCAC 18A .2518, .2539 – Public Swimming Pools

The Commission for Public Health is proposing to update rules 15A NCAC 18A .2518 and .2539, concerning the regulation of water circulation systems and suction hazards in public swimming pools, to clarify existing language and align with current practices. In addition, 15A NCAC 18A .2518 is being readopted in accordance with G.S. 150B-21.3A, Periodic Review and Expiration of Existing Rules. The proposed effective date of these rules is November 1, 2024.

A public hearing will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The public hearing will be held by teleconference. You may participate in the public hearing by dialing 919-715-0769 (no access code).

Public Comments

The public comment period runs from December 1, 2023 to January 30, 2024. Comments will also be accepted at the public hearing.
