The Commission for Public Health (CPH) is proposing to permanently adopt rules 10A NCAC 41C .1001-.1007. These proposed rules implement Session Law 2021-180, Section 9G.8.(a), which directs CPH to adopt rules as necessary to implement requirements for the testing and remediation of lead in drinking water in public schools and the inspection for and abatement of asbestos and lead-based paint hazards in public schools and child care facilities. CPH previously adopted these rules under temporary procedures. The proposed effective date of these rules is April 1, 2023.
